Congratulations to NRT Trainee Dylan Joralmon on His Dissertation Defense
The NSF NRT community would like to congratulate Dylan Joralmon on the successful defense of his dissertation in Mechanical Engineering PhD at Arizona State University. 🎉
As an NRT-funded trainee, Dylan has been an important part of our interdisciplinary research community, and we are excited to celebrate this major milestone alongside him.
His dissertation, “Development of Layer-less Additive Manufacturing Approaches for High-Speed, Cost-Efficient Production of Functional Metal and Alloy Components,” explored innovative approaches to metal additive manufacturing using continuous, layer-less fabrication techniques and customizable metal precursor resins. His work contributes to advancing faster, smoother, and more adaptable manufacturing methods with potential applications across aerospace, biomedical engineering, electronics, and advanced manufacturing industries.
Throughout his PhD journey, Dylan’s research reflected the kind of interdisciplinary innovation and problem-solving that the NRT program aims to support. His work also incorporated data-driven modeling approaches to better understand and predict material microstructures, helping expand possibilities in advanced manufacturing research.
We are incredibly proud of Dylan and grateful to have had him as part of the NRT community. Congratulations again on this well-deserved achievement, and we wish him continued success in all the exciting opportunities ahead. 👏
